(Wow, I'm late.)

I really don't see any reason for you to be dissapointed. The movie's politics go legitimately both ways (http://www.alternet.org/movies/92385/batman%27s_take_on_9_11_era_politics_drop_the_fearmongering/)(http://online.wsj.com/public/article_print/SB121694247343482821.html).

In my personal oppinion, all the leading men (save the Joker) are Bush:

Gordon is Bush's well-intentioned-yet-short-sighted optimism;

Bruce Wayne is Bush's [mostly unjustly] tortured conscience;

Harvey Dent is who Bush wanted to be;

Two-Face is who Bush's enemies paint him as, and some of his underlings gone bad [I suspect some actual perverted-justice on Bush's part myself, but not anything as psychotic as they say];

Batman is Bush on terrorism. He's tough, he skates on the edge, he makes mistakes, he takes all the tough decisions on his own shoulders...

...and, like batman, he's hated for it...but, like Batman, he doesn't whine about it, or hold press-conferences every week to defend his popularity every time it comes under attack.

I'm a Libertarian. I hate Liberals and Conservatives equally, and get frustrated when people say I must choose between liberty and security. But nothing frustrates me more than being lectured on the subject of liberty by a Statist from the United Kremlin. Batman rightfully disposed of the spy-tech after his urgent BUT SPECIFIC purpose was accomplished. I understand that the Irish parliament is considering a law that bans blasphemy to preserve peoples' feelings. I also understand that purchasing private medicine prior to having surgury on the British health-plan can potentially void the treatment your tax-dollars (sorry, Euros) paid for.

Liberals are always moaning about breaching liberties in the name of self-defence, but as soon as they're up-to-bat, liberty can take a hike in the name of "equality", "green-ness" and "humanitarianism".

Gordon is Bush's well-intentioned-yet-short-sighted optimism;

Bruce Wayne is Bush's [mostly unjustly] tortured conscience;

Harvey Dent is who Bush wanted to be;

Two-Face is who Bush's enemies paint him as, and some of his underlings gone bad [I suspect some actual perverted-justice on Bush's part myself, but not anything as psychotic as they say];

Batman is Bush on terrorism. He's tough, he skates on the edge, he makes mistakes, he takes all the tough decisions on his own shoulders…

…and, like batman, he's hated for it…but, like Batman, he doesn't whine about it, or hold press-conferences every week to defend his popularity every time it comes under attack.
